The skin has two natural water holding mechanisms:

a surface film of natural oil (sebum).

old skin cells, which slow down evaporation of water from
the skin surface.
When washing using hot water and soap, the layer of
natural oil on the skin surface is removed resulting in the skin drying. It is
thus important to replace the lost moisture and also to remove the old skin
cells. It is the dead cells on the surface of the skin that give the skin its
dry, dull and lifeless appearance. A scrub session with Body Scrub is a
wonder cure for dull and lifeless skin.
